Compost
Composting is when food breaks down into rich soil. Composting is extremely helpful because instead of food rotting in a landfill it can change into soil and be used to help new plants thrive and grow.
What you can compost depends on whether you are doing it at home or a company is collecting compost for you.
- Difficult to compost at home
- meat, bones
- dairy, yogurt, cheese, milk
- processed foods
- Easy to compost at home
- fruit, kiwi, strawberry, watermelon.etc
- vegetable, corn, carrots, green peppers.etc
- coffee grounds
- food scraps
- eggs, egg shells
Composting at home is not as difficult as it sounds, you just need to be informed and have the correct material. My next blog will be about how to compost at home.
Here are some images to help you!

I have this container in my house where I put my compost. Then I put it into a bigger bin outside where it will decompose! These green bags are biodegradable so you are able to compost them along with the food.
You can definitely compost at your home, but also there are many composting companies that will pick it up for you. This can be helpful if you live in a city, travel a lot, or have a very busy lifestyle.
